Itinerary

Day 1 - Depart for Morocco

Day 2- Arrive in Casablanca & Travel to Rabat

Arrive in Casablanca and transfer to your hotel in Rabat where you have the rest of the day at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM followed by a light dinner. We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 3 PM.

Day 3 - Rabat Morning Sightseeing

This morning, take a city tour of Rabat, Morocco’s capital. View the Royal Palace and the ancient ruins of Chellah, a city that traces its origins to the Carthaginians and Phoenicians. Visit the Oudaya Kasbah, and the Hassan Tower. Spend the afternoon at leisure

Day 4 - Travel to Fez

Today, depart for Fez. En route, stop and visit the ancient ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis where you will get a chance to see the well-preserved original mosaics, Roman Road, and city layout. As you travel through the Moroccan countryside, pass by the holy city of Moulay Idriss for a photo opportunity. Upon your arrival in Fez, admire panoramic views of the ancient city of Fez from a hill overlooking the medina. Take a short bus tour of the imperial city, conducted by your Tour Manager, on the way to the hotel. This evening, savor a special dinner* hosted by a local family and learn about Moroccan culture and traditions *Home hosted dinner in Fez may be moved to another day, according to your host’s availability.

Day 5- Full Day in Fez

Spend a full day at leisure to wander the old medina yourself or choose to take to guided optional tour where you will visit the many hidden treasures of the medina that only a Moroccan guide will know. Fez is particularly famous for its tanneries and the Fesel Bali Medina. A short visit to the surrounding leather shops gives you the best view of the tanneries. See the Attarine Medersa, Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and visit the Nejjarine Fountains and Museum. Finally, view the exterior of the Royal Palace and walk through the famed Jewish quarter of the medina

Day 6- Sightseeing en route to Erfoud

This will be a long touring day. After breakfast, depart for Erfoud via the montane cedar woods of the middle Atlas Mountains, passing by Ifrane, a charming ski resort. Continue to Erfoud via Errachidia and the lush Ziz Valley. Arrive to your Erfoud hotel in early evening.

Day 7 - Rissani City Tour

Depart to explore the small city of Rissani, on the edge of the Sahara. En route, stop at a fossil factory to learn more about this unique activity which is famous in the region. Upon arrival in Rissani, tour the lively souk and visit an 18th century ksar. Next, pass by the ancient ruins of Sijilmasa on the River Ziz, once a Berber city and medieval trade depot. Return to Erfoud for an afternoon at leisure or join the optional tour of the Sahara, including a camel ride into the desert. After sunset, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 8 - Sightseeing en route to Quarzazate

This morning, continue your journey to Tinghir via the Tinjdad Road. Stop to visit the Todgha canyons, which rise to a towering 800 feet. After a brief stop in the Dades Canyons, continue to Ouarzazate via the road of the thousand Kasbahs, and the Dades Valley, famous for its roses and the yearly Rose Festival. Arrive at the hotel in Ouarzazate later this evening in time for dinner.

DAY 9 – Quarzazate City Tour, Travel to Marrakesh

Take a city tour of Ouarzazate, a desert city at the gates of the Sahara. Walk in the Taourirt village, which was constructed in the 12th century and still inhabited today. Your tour also includes the Kasbah Taourirt, an impressive structure that was built to house hundreds of people. Finally, visit Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This afternoon travel to Marrakesh via the highest road point in Morocco, the Tichka Pass, offering an impressive landscape in the heart of the Atlas Mountain range.

DAY 10 – Marrakesh City Tour

After breakfast, take a morning tour of the city. Visit the Saadian Tombs, dating back to the 16th century, where Saadian royalty found their final resting place. Your tour also includes the Koutoubia Minaret, as well as the beautiful Bahia Palace. End the tour by walking through the medina before arriving at the Djemaa el Fna Square. Spend the afternoon at leisure or, join the optional Cooking Class with Carriage Ride. Participate in a cooking class and learn how to prepare traditional Moroccan tajine as well as Moroccan flatbread. After dinner, take a horse-drawn carriage through Djemaa el Fna Square and the lively streets of Marrakesh by night.

Day 11 - Full Day in Marrakesh

Arise before dawn to participate in today's optional Hot Air Balloon Ride. Take off in a hot air balloon as you watch the sunrise over Marrakesh. Drift above the beautiful landscape, before returning back to earth to enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast. Spend the day at leisure in Marrakesh or join the optional tour to Essaouira, whose medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site Sandan excellent example of a fortified North African town. Walk along the city's ramparts just north of Moulay Hassan Square where local artists sell their paintings.

Continue on to the Skala de la Ville, which is a fortification built along the cliffs that defended the city from sea attacks. Explore the many souks in the medina, including the spice and jewelry souks. Visit a jewelry shop, renowned for its quality and design. Browse the extensive collection of uniquely handcrafted silver jewelry and watch artisans create beautiful silver pieces.

DAY 12 - Depart Marrakesh, Travel to Casablanca
This morning, travel to Casablanca, the commercial heart of Morocco. Upon arrival, join a half day sightseeing tour of Casablanca, which includes the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque* and the Corniche seaside. Continue on a short drive through the residential areas of Casablanca to the city center to visit the Mohamed V Square, the Habous quarter and the Notre Dame de Lourdes Cathedral.

Tonight, have dinner at a local restaurant*Hassan II Mosque is subject to unexpected closures for local religious observances. Details will be provided locally by your Tour Manager.

Day 1 - Depart for Brazil

Day 2 - Arrive in Rio de Janeiro

Welcome to Brazil! Morning arrival in Rio, the vivacious “sun and fun” capital of South America; meet and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to rest, relax and acclimate to your new surroundings. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager and fellow travelers, followed by a Welcome Dinner at a typical Brazilian Churrascaria. Afterward, get a good night’s rest before the exciting adventure that awaits you in South America!

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro, Tour of Corcovado Mountain

Awake this morning in amazing Rio. Begin the day with an ascent by a scenic cog railway to the summit of Corcovado Hill. Here, at 2,400 feet above the city, stands the 125-foot tall statue of Christ the Redeemer. The Christ statue that embraces the entire city is designated as one of the seven “New Wonders of the World.” See the thrilling 360-degree sweeping view of the city and understand why Rio is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Afterward, continue along Rio’s famous beaches, including Copacabana and Ipanema, before returning to your hotel.

Day 4 - Full Day in Rio de Janeiro

Today is a leisure day to discover all of the delights of Rio on your own. Watch the volleyball and soccer matches on the beach, shop for local crafts, and linger at a waterfront café to just “people-watch.” Join the optional not-to-be-missed glass cable car ride that takes you to the top of iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, a symbol of the city, where you’ll see the stunning panorama of the beaches, Corcovado Mountain, downtown Rio, and Guanabara Bay. In the afternoon, attend the optional Carnival and Samba Experience. Visit one of the top Samba schools in the city and learn what made the Samba & Carnival icons of Brazilian national identity. On your last night in Rio at leisure, be sure to sample the cuisine at some of the fabulous restaurants and cafes ringing the beachfront.

Day 5 - Fly to Iguassu, Brazilian Falls

Depart Rio this morning on a flight to Iguassu Falls. Upon arrival, walk along the winding pathways on the Brazilian side of the majestic and awe-inspiring Falls, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. Iguassu consists of over 275 separate cataracts across a span of two and one-half miles, wider than Victoria Falls and higher than Niagara Falls, and more dramatic than both. Stand in awe at the unforgettable panoramic views before crossing the border to Iguazu, the Argentinean side of the Falls, overnight. After a day filled with unforgettable memories, return to the hotel and enjoy a typical Argentine dinner.

Day 6 - Iguazu, the Argentinean Falls

Your adventure continues this morning on the Argentinean side of the Falls. A rail car takes you to the top of the Falls on the Upper Circuit, and you will walk to the Lower Circuit, where the power of nature surrounds you. Continue along the catwalks to Devil’s Gorge – stand in amazement as you gaze at spectacular “Devil’s Throat,” the most magnificent of all of the cataracts. View, photograph, and feel the spray of the thundering waters, one of nature’s most impressive achievements and a unique experience for your senses. Spend the rest of the day exploring the natural treasures of Iguazu National Park, designated a World Heritage Site for its rare and endangered flora and fauna.

Day 7 - Fly to Buenos Aires

This afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Its beauty is apparent with its elegant architecture, wide tree-shaded boulevards, striking monuments, and sprawling parks. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to get acquainted with the “Paris of South America” and its distinct European flavor. As you will have your night at leisure, feel free to treat yourself to an Argentine beef dinner at one of the city’s many superb steak restaurants.

Day 8- Buenos Aires City Tour

Discover the city’s highlights this morning on a tour that includes the Plaza de Mayo, Metropolitan Cathedral, and Casa Rosada (government palace); see the balcony where Eva and Juan Peron made their speeches. Then, to the colorful La Boca neighborhood, a working-class barrio, and the old quarters of San Telmo and Caminito, a mix of colonial-style homes, narrow lanes, artists’ lofts, and very trendy cafes. Drive to the Recoleta Cemetery, the final resting place of many of the wealthiest and most important Argentine historical figures. The grounds here cover more than four city blocks, filled with tombs adorned by works of local and international sculptors, and more than 6,400 mausoleums, including the tomb of Eva “Evita” Peron, always heaped with flowers and letters from adoring fans. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring some of Buenos Aires’ neighborhoods and fabulous collection of shops before this evening’s tango lesson with professional Argentine Tango dancers. Tonight is at leisure, or participate in the optional Argentine Dinner and Tango Show.

Day 9 - Full Day in Buenos Aires

Revisit some of your favorite places in the city today, shop for leatherwear and designer clothes, or, join the optional fun-filled Gaucho Party at the Santa Susana Ranch. Get ready for a rustic experience at a typical Argentine ranch (estancia), dedicated to agriculture and the breeding of cattle and horses. After a tour of the grounds, enjoy a typical barbecue lunch, followed by a folklore show with live music and dancing. Return to the hotel with time to freshen up for this evening’s “Farewell to Argentina” dinner.

Day 10 - Fly to Santiago

This morning’s city tour takes you through the colonial neighborhoods of the city that contrast with the modern financial center, known as Sanhattan. Pass by beautiful residences that are part of the Barrio Universitario (University Area). In the historical center visit the lively Plaza de Armas, with its fountains, sculpture and intriguing people-watching opportunities. The tour continues with a drive along the green Parque Forestal with its stunning Fine Arts museum. Continue crossing the bohemian neighborhood of Bellavista and climb up San Cristóbal Hill* to a viewpoint, for a magnificent panoramic view of the city with its backdrop of the towering Andes Mountains. This afternoon, join the optional excursion to the Undurraga Winery in the Maipo Valley, one of Chile’s most important wine producing areas. Taste some of Chile’s world-famous wines during the tour before returning to Santiago

DAY 12- Wednesday - Full Day in Santiago

On your last day in Santiago, visit the picturesque port of Valparaiso, founded in the XVI century on a total of 43 hills that are reached by narrow, windy streets, staircases and a series of lifts (funiculars) which now constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Viña del Mar, known as the Garden City for its pretty parks and flower-lined streets. There will be time to enjoy lunch independently. On the return to Santiago, stop at some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Tonight, it’s an evening to share wonderful memories of your journey in South America at a traditional Chilean dinner at a local restaurant and bid farewell to your Tour Manager.
